Day 1. 16th of Dec 2016: Hong Kong-Xi’an (D)

Once we arrive at the Xi’an airport, we will be greeted by the local guide and take our coach to the four-star Grand New World Hotel or a hotel of equivalent rating.

Day 2. 17th Dec 2016: Xi’an-Mt. Huashan (B, L, D)

Today we will go visit the Banpo Museum, then the Terra-Cotta Warriors Replica Factory. After lunch, we will visit Emperor Qin Shihuang’s Mausoleum and the Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. Emperor Qin Shihuang’s (259-210B.C.) acquired the throne of Qin at the age of 13, and took the helm of the state by age 22. By 221 B. C. he had annexed the six rival principalities of Qi, Chu, Yan, Han, Zhao and Wei, and established the first feudal empire in China’s history. Then we will head to Huashan and check in at a four-star hotel.

Day 3. 18th of Dec 2016: Mt. Hua-Xi’an (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we shall head to Huashan Mountain (with cable car included). Mt. Huashan is known as “The Number One Precipitous Mountain under Heaven”. It is one for the five sacred mountains in China (amongst Mt. Taishan in Shandong; Mt. Hengshan in Hunan; Mt. Hendshan in Shanxi, and Mt. Songshan in Henan). In ancient times, Mt. Huashan was called Mt. Taihuashan, from a distance the five peaks seem to form the shape of a “flower” (Hua in Chinese), hence the name “Huashan”. Famous for its natural vistas of steep, narrow paths, precioitous crags, and a high mountain range, it is home to several influential taoist temples where emperiors of past dynasties utilized for their pilgrimages, making Mt. Huashan the holy land of Taoism. Afterwards we will bus to Xi’an.

Day 4. 19th Dec 2016: Xi’an (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we shall visit the Qianling Mausleum + Yongtai Tomb. Qianling is the joint tomb of Gaozong (628-683A.D.), the third emperor of the Tang dynasty and his Empress consort, Wu Zetian(624-705A.D.), the only Empress in Chinese History. After lunch, go to The Famen Temple (by electric car). Renowned for storing the veritable Finger Bone of the Sakyamuni Buddha,with a history of 1,700 years, Famen Temple is considered the “Forerunner of the Ziggurat in Central Shaanxi.” We will then head back to Xi’an, and after dinner provide free shopping time at the Bell & Drum Square, Muslim Street. Check in at our hotel.

Day 5. 20th of Dec 2016: Xi’an (B, L, D)

Today we will go visit the City Wall (option to ride a bicycle), it’s the most complete city wall that has survived in China, as well as being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. After lunch, we shall visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the symbol of old-line Xi’an. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayan Pagoda) is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. Then we will go visit the Shaanxi History Museum, and in the evening enjoy a Dumpling Dinner along with a Tang Dynasty Culture Show.

Day 6. 21st of Dec 2016: Xi’an-Hong Kong (B,L)

After breakfast, we shall visit the Daming Palace (by electric car), which was the main royal palace of Tang Dynasty (618 – 907), where Tang emperors lived and dealt with state affairs. Afterwards we will enjoy Legend of Daming in IMAX 3D. After having lunch, we shall transfer to airport for Hong Kong, wrapping up our 6 day adventure.
