AP STUDENTS - SUMMER MANDARIN IMMERSION IN BEIJING
When: June 16 – July 7, 2015
Beijing, also known as Peking, is the capital of the People’s Republic of China and one of the most populous cities in the world. The city is renowned for its opulent palaces, temples, gardens, tombs, its art treasures and universities have made it a center of culture and art in China.
RAMCC Summer Discovery Program will once again be offering our very popular Mandarin trip to Beijing. This opportunity is for AP students who are serious about improving their Chinese language abilities. (This is a non-credit course.)
This opportunity will be hosted at the Civil Aviation Management Institute of China. This reputable language institute will provide excellent classroom lessons for students in various Mandarin streams. The program will provide students with AP practice materials taught in a small teacher to student ratio learning environment. Trip leaders will assess student language levels and plan learning materials and activities geared towards individual needs in listening, speaking, reading and writing. After class each day, students will have the opportunity to explore Beijing and surrounding areas, visiting historical places and learning about the richness of Chinese culture while practicing their language skills.
The teacher to student ratio is 1: 12. The trip will only be confirmed after minimums of 25 students have applied. The application window will be closed once the maximum of 30 students is reached prior to the advertised registration deadline.
